
In April, the medical school will welcome Nicole Baumgarth, DVM, PhD, as the latest speaker for Seminars in Investigative Medicine.
Dr. Baumgarth will present “Innate-like B cells: The inbetweeners- what they do and how they do it” from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, in TBL 2 at the W .E. Upjohn M.D. Campus in downtown Kalamazoo.
A free lunch will be available from 11:45 a.m. to noon and Dr. Baumgarth’s presentation will begin promptly at noon. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Baumgarth is a Professor of Immunology at the Dept. of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology and the Center for Comparative Medicine, University of California, Davis. Dr. Baumgarth's research encompasses studies on the regulation of immune responses to infections and B cell biology.
She is the current director of a NIH T-32 Training grant at UC Davis for DVMs conducting research towards a PhD and the Chair of Graduate Council at UC Davis, overseeing all graduate education at that university. She is a frequent reviewer for the NIH and a Section Editor for the Journal of Immunology.
Dr. Baumgarth is part of an impressive slate of speakers for Seminars in Investigative Medicine for the 2017-2018 academic year.
