����ͷ�� has expanded its obstetrics and gynecology services by opening a second office in Portage.

����ͷ�� Obstetrics and Gynecology, located next to ����ͷ�� Pediatrics, 670 Mall Drive in Portage, opened September 14.

The practice’s four physicians, two of whom are fluent in Spanish, have decades of experience treating women in Kalamazoo County and around the world.��

“We’re opening our practice to an area that has not been served by WMed,” said Debra Taubel, MD, chair of the medical school’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Taubel said the practice’s four female providers – herself, Zylkia Rodriguez, MD, Silvia Linares, MD, and Rebekah Sharp, MD – have an interest in treating complex gynecologic issues and obstetric care. Services the practice offers include same day long-acting contraception, preconception counseling, pelvic pain, menopause, surgical conditions and infertility counseling.

“Having worked in Portage, I think there are a lot of patients we can welcome at our office who are looking for the services we provide close to home,” Dr. Rodriguez said.

The four providers will continue to train residents at ����ͷ��’s Obstetrics and Gynecology practice at 1000 Oakland Drive in Kalamazoo, but residents will not see patients at the Portage practice.��

����ͷ�� Obstetrics and Gynecology patients are able to choose whether they have surgical procedures at Bronson Methodist Hospital or Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo. ����ͷ�� Obstetrics and Gynecology providers have 24/7 coverage for all emergent situations, but patients can choose to see the same practitioner at every visit if they choose.

Providers at ����ͷ�� Obstetrics and Gynecology – Mall Drive are accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call 269.337.4600. Patients of the practice who have children who are seen at ����ͷ�� Pediatrics – Mall Drive can call and schedule appointments that coordinate with their child’s pediatrician visits, Taubel said.
