Medical school leaders are continuing to implement changes and proactive measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.听
The steps that are being taken are meant to ensure the safety of our patients at 成人头条, as well as WMed students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff while meeting the healthcare needs of the community and the educational needs of learners.
Most recently, on April 27, 成人头条 began providing COVID-19 testing at the Oakland Drive campus through a partnership with NxGen Laboratories. Individuals, current WMed patients or others, who have symptoms and wish to be tested can call 269.337.6577 or 269.337.4600 to register, provide insurance information, and to schedule a telephone visit with a 成人头条 provider to get a doctor鈥檚 order for the test. More information can be found at /covid19testing.
Other changes and proactive measures that were taken in April include:
- In compliance with the order issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, face masks are required at all WMed locations.
- Several events, including the 5th Annual Imagine Gala, student and resident graduations, seminars, grand rounds and professional development sessions have been canceled or postponed through June.
- The Class of 2020 Commencement will be a virtual event. Medical students, as well as students from WMed鈥檚 Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Master of Science in Medical Engineering degree programs, will be honored on Saturday May 16, at 1:00 p.m. More information can be found at /graduation.
- The temporary closure of 成人头条 Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine at 670 Mall Drive in Portage. The clinic is set to reopen on Monday, May 4.
